U.S. National Team Heads to Slovakia for World Championship

The U.S. team held a practice session at Ondrej Nepala Arena in Bratislava at 2 p.m. local time today, led by head coach John Hynes from the NHL’s Minnesota Wild. Hynes was assisted by Jack Capuano, who managed the penalty kill, and Derek Lalonde, who oversaw the power play efforts.

Three players on the team, Zach Werenski, Johnny Gaudreau, and Luke Kunin, were all part of the 2019 U.S. Men’s National Team that competed in the IIHF Men’s World Championship held in Slovakia. The team played their preliminary round games in Kosice before moving to Ondrej Nepala Arena for the quarterfinal match against Russia, which they lost 4-3.
