2,000 Participants Run for Mental Health Awareness at the On Our Sleeves 5K in Columbus

5K charity run supports mental health services for children

On Saturday, the weather was perfect for a run, and almost 2,000 participants decided to take advantage of the outdoors for a good cause. The Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field was the starting point for the On Our Sleeves 5K event, which aimed to raise awareness, break stigmas, and raise funds for On Our Sleeves, a foundation dedicated to addressing children’s mental health.

Whitney Raglin Bignall, associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, emphasized the importance of talking about mental health and breaking stigmas surrounding it. She highlighted the significance of bringing awareness and fundraising efforts to help support this cause. Over 6 million people across the United States have engaged with the movement’s free pediatric mental health education resources since 2018.

The On Our Sleeves initiative is an excellent opportunity for individuals to get involved in raising awareness about mental health issues in children. Their website provides valuable information on how you can get involved and make a difference in your community. By supporting this cause, we can help break down barriers and provide essential resources to children who need them most.
