New 100 Euro Charge for CPF Training, Car License Financing Restrictions Announced

Decree Mandating 100 Euro Liability Published as of May 2 by CPF

A 100 euro charge for anyone embarking on training through their Personal Training Account (CPF) has been finalized with the publication of the implementing decree in the Official Journal on April 30. From May 2, employees will have to pay the fee to benefit from training paid for by their employer. The decree provides exceptions to the charge if the employer agrees to contribute to the training costs, as well as for individuals undertaking retraining actions. Job seekers are not required to pay the fee. The fixed price of 100 euros will be reviewed annually based on changes in consumer prices.

On the other hand, a decree restricting access to car and motorcycle licenses through the CPF has not yet been published. This measure follows an initial decision to allow financing for all types of licenses, but the government has now decided to limit access. It will no longer be possible to finance a motorcycle license if you already have a car license, or vice versa. The government cites potential cost savings from this restriction, estimating a savings of over 200 million euros.
