Senior Spotlight: 10 High School Athletes on Their Way to Division-I Colleges this Fall

High school sports season is winding down, and we are excited to announce a new feature that will be released every week leading up to the end of the season. Our Athlete of the Week poll has been highlighting standout Grand Rapids-area players throughout the spring season, and now we are turning our attention to the seniors who are wrapping up their high school athletic careers.

In our first installment of this feature, we will showcase the area’s elite spring sports seniors. These athletes have proven themselves on the field and are headed to Division-I colleges in the fall. Among them are future Northwestern lacrosse midfielder Claire Marosi from GR Catholic Central, Robert Morris lacrosse attacker Vivian LaMange from East Grand Rapids, and Michigan centerfielder Megan Beemer from Hudsonville.

But there are many more notable seniors to watch, including Michigan State catcher Sophie Holverstott from Byron Center, Michigan State soccer midfielder Rachael Wright from Coopersville, Central Michigan soccer forward Auden Stauffer from Forest Hills Northern, Syracuse distance runner Selma Anderson from Ottawa Hills, and many others.
